Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa in Negombo, Sri Lanka

The Suzuki GSX-1300R , also known as Hayabusa is a hyper sport motorcycle which was once the worlds fastest production motorcycle. 

In Sri Lanka, Suzuki Hayabusa’s theoretically doesn’t exist, due to the government regulations (Motorcycles with engines above 250 CC are street illegal in Sri Lanka). But among a fewer people a rumor existed that there is indeed a real Suzuki hayabusa in Negombo, and a few also witnessed they have seen it on road.

In year 2005, Maris Stella College in Negombo Hosted a 3 day Exhibition “Com Exploration 2005” organized by the Maris Stella 2005/06 Commerce Union. I was a member of the commerce union back then, and the president of the union, Hershan decided to put up a motorcycle show to pump some life and adventure to the exhibition. The motorcycle show was organized by Don Shane who was a popular biker in negombo area.

On the first day, The show featured some of the rare sports bikes back then in the country with a few unique bikes which were street illegal due to their higher engine capacities.  

On the second day, Motorcycle show had a hidden surprise for the participants at the Com Exploration grounds. Around 10.30 AM, after a few hours from the opening, the rumor, the mysterious Suzuki Hayabusa turned up at the gate and entered the grounds of Maris Stella College, stunning the whole crowd for a few seconds. The hyper sport bike which belonged to a Skilled well known rider in negombo, who also happened to be a Past Pupil of Maris Stella College, was roaming inside the ground for two whole days. People all over the area turned up at the exhibition, just to take a look at the hayabusa.

On the third day of the exhibition, the hayabusa left the grounds after a few stunts and disappeared never to be seen again. Few months after the show, the owner of The Hayabusa migrated from Sri Lanka, leaving the mysterious hayabusa to be a mystery forever.

The Pictures taken of the hayabusa back then were withheld by a request of the owner due to the status in the country and they were never published anywhere. But after a many years, before the story becomes a rumor forever in the history, I decided to upload some of the pictures.

How to Reset a Nokia Lifetimer

Nokia Lifetimer is a counter that keeps track of the Total call time of your phone. It will show how much the phone has been used, and it’s the best thing to check if you’re planning to buy a used Nokia Mobile.

To see the Total Call Time or the Lifetimer counter, On the standby screen type the following code

*#92702689#

(Easy way to remember this is - *#war0anty#)

And it will pop up a message that shows the lifetimer in hours and minutes.

Now Comes the Interesting Part

Like myself, you might have wondered whether its possible to reset the Lifetimer of a Newer Nokia Mobile. Yes, Of course it needs advanced software’s and dongles such as JAF, UFS, ?

Not really, now with Nemesis Service Suite (NSS) you can do this at home on your own PC with a standard data cable that comes in the package.  

I have tried this, and this worked perfectly with my own Nokia N73 and with Nokia N95,and a N95 8GB.

Forums around the cyberspace have confirmed that this works with Nokia 6630, 6680, 5500 sport, 5700XM, 6110 Navigator, 6120 Classic, N70, N72, N73, E50, E51, E61i, E65, N80, N91, N95, N95 8GB Mobile devices.

However a friend of mine, Chathika said that after he reset the lifetimer on his own Nokia N95 8GB, he had noticed that the lifetimer is running slower than the normal speed. Kinda cool if you don’t want your lifetimer going high..

 

So , if you are willing to try this, Follow the below procedure

 

What you will need

Nemesis Service Suite (Can be downloaded for free from here.)

Lifetimer.pm File (Click here to Download)

Nokia  Data Cable with Drivers (Nokia Cable Drivers)

Of Course, A Mobile Phone

Procedure

1. Download and Extract the Lifetimer.pm file,  and Download Nemesis Service Suite.

2. Install Nemesis Service Suite on your Computer, It won’t take much time.

3. Install Nokia Cable Drivers (No need to install, if you have Nokia PC Suite already installed)

4. Connect The Phone in "PC Suite" Mode to the PC

5. Open Nemesis Service Software 

6. Click on "Scan for new Device" Button on Top right Corner (See Below Image)

7.  It Will take a few seconds to scan, and it will load up the software interface after communicating with the Phone. 

8. Click the "Phone Info" Button. (See Below Image)

9. On the Bottom left, Select  and open the "Permanent Memory" Tab, which is next to the Fbus info. (See Below Image)

10. Click the "Write" button on Below right, and open the Extracted Lifetimer.pm file on your PC. (See Below Image) 

11. After the Lifetimer.pm file is opened , it will immediately start writing it to the Phone's EEPROM Area.

12. The Procedure will end when the progress bar reaches 20%. This is normal , and on the bottom right side, it will display its down. 

13. Unplug the Phone, and Restart it. 

14. After boot up, Check the Lifetimer :-) 

Caution 

* Power Failure During Writing will cause damage to the Phone, And there is a chance that it might brick the phone as well.

* Loose, worn out Data Cables Might fail the Writing process, and there are chances of damage to the EEPROM area of the phone.

* Do not attempt this with phones that are not included in the confirmed list.
