What should I do to marry a rich guy?

The Famous answer to the question "What should I do to marry a rich guy?"

This one landed in my inbox this morning,
and couldnt resist posting it over here.

Many Thanks to Melsamara for Sending this over my way ..

The Mail

A young and pretty lady posted this on a popular forum:

Title: What should I do to marry a rich guy?

I'm going to be honest of what I'm going to say here. I'm 25 this year. I'm very pretty, have style and good taste. I wish to marry a guy with $500k annual salary or above. You might say that I'm greedy, but an annual salary of $1M is considered only as middle class in New York .. My requirement is not high. Is there anyone in this forum who has an income of $500k annual salary? Are you all married? I wanted to ask: what should I do to marry rich persons like you? Among those I've dated, the richest is $250k annual income, and it seems that this is my upper limit.
If someone is going to move into high cost residential area on the west of New York City Garden $250k annual income is not enough.

I'm here humbly to ask a few questions:

1)Where do most rich bachelors hang out?
(Please list down the names and addresses of bars, restaurant, gym)

2)Which age group should I target?

3)Why most wives of the riches is only average-looking?
I've met a few girls who doesn't have looks and are not interesting,
but they are able to marry rich guys

4)How do you decide who can be your wife, and who can only be your girlfriend? (
my target now is to get married)

Ms. Pretty

Then There was an interesting reply to the above post ! :

Dear Ms. Pretty,

I have read your post with great interest. Guess there are lots of girls out there who have similar questions like yours. Please allow me to analyse your situation as a professional investor. My annual income is more than $500k, which meets your requirement, so I hope everyone believes that I'm not wasting time here. From the standpoint of a business person, it is a bad decision to marry you.. The answer is very simple, so let me explain. Put the details aside, what you're trying to do is an exchange of 'beauty' and 'money': Person A provides beauty, and Person B pays for it, fair and square. However, there's a deadly problem here, your beauty will fade, but my money will not be gone without any good reason. The fact is, my income might increase from year to year, but you can't be prettier year after year. Hence from the viewpoint of economics, I am an appreciation asset, and you are a depreciation asset. It's not just normal depreciation, but exponential depreciation. If that is your only asset, your value will be much worried 10 years later.
By the terms we use in Wall Street, every trading has a position, dating with you is also a 'trading position'. If the trade value dropped we will sell it and it is not a good idea to keep it for long term - same goes with the marriage that you wanted. It might be cruel to say this, but in order to make a wiser decision any assets with great depreciation value will be sold or 'leased'. Anyone with over $500k annual income is not a fool; we would only date you, but will not marry you. I would advice that you forget looking for any clues to marry a rich guy. And by the way, you could make yourself to become a rich person with $500k annual income. This has better chance than finding a rich fool.

Hope this reply helps. If you are interested in 'leasing' services, do contact me...

Lyrics for the Song

I'm haunted by this photograph
Don't know why
Everytime I look, I get shivers down my spine
You're such a beautiful face
I know those eyes
They take me back in time

She could be you
I wouldn't even know
She could be you
But that was long ago
She could be you

I wish that i could tell you
What you don't know
I dream about that day
But it's impossible
In another world,
I'll be yours tonight
But i can't break free from this life

She could be you
I wouldn't even know
She could be you
But that was long ago
She could be you

I see it all the time
I know it's true
A picture doesn't lie

She could be you
I wouldn't even know
She could be you
But that was long ago
She could be you

She could be you
She could be you

How to Format a Nokia S60 Mobile Phone

When you’re using a Nokia, with time you may notice that your device starts to get buggier and slow in response to your commands. Most of the time, this happens when the mobile gets filled up with data and unnecessary junk and temp files. You can Backup your data and save the space, but what about the hidden pests which we cant deal in the normal user interface?

Apart from the above case there may be several other, some even worst case scenarios like Virus attacks, and malware that fails to remove from the device.

That’s the time when we need to do some serious cleaning, in other words a Device Format. Device Format sweeps out everything in the device and restores the original factory settings it had when the phone was manufactured. All User Installed files such as themes, contacts, Notes will be deleted.

Before attempting any of the format procedures, make sure your Device’s battery is fully charged or connected to a Power adapter. Power failure or Low Batteries might end up bricking the phone.

There are three Main types of Formatting Procedures.

  • Factory Reset
  • Hard Reset
  • Hard Format

Factory Reset

“Factory Reset” will reset all custom settings back to the device’s factory default state. This will not delete any User Data from the Phone memory. Settings such as current time, alarms, Profiles, Themes will be reverted back to the original settings. In Geek words this will restore all the original ini files in the phone.

If your problem isn’t solved with a Factory Reset, You should go for the Hard reset.

To do a Factory Reset, Type *#7780* in the standby screen. Then a message will appear requesting your mobile security code. (Nokia Default security code is 12345). Once you enter the security code, the device will restart. Alternatively, you can do this by selecting Factory Reset located in the Phones settings menu.

Hard Reset

“Hard Reset” is for more tough situations such as viruses and heavy load of junk files that cannot be deleted. Hard Reset will wipe out everything in your phone memory and will restore all the factory default settings. You must backup important files in your phone before this process.

Contacts, Calendar Entries, Files in Phone Memory and Messages will be completely deleted in this process.

To do a Hard Reset, Type *#7370# in the standby screen. A message will appear requesting your Device’s Security Code (Nokia Default security code is 12345). Once you enter the security code, the device will restart. Once the device restarts you can restore your backups.

Hard Format

This option is considered the last option in formatting procedures. This is almost the same as Hard Reset, difference is that this is executed during the Boot process. This is helpful in case your device fails to boot up in case of corrupt font files or viruses. This is will also delete everything in your mobile phone, and will completely restore everything to factory default state.

How to do a Hard Format

Turn off the Mobile Phone

Press and Hold the Following Keys -> Green Key(Send Button) , * , 3

While holding the above 3 buttons, Press the power button to switch on the Phone.

When the Device is powered up, everything in the phone memory will be deleted and restored back to the factory default state. This process usually takes a few minutes.

In S60 V2 devices such as Nokia 7610, 6600 this procedure will be displayed on the screen.

How to Backup a Nokia S60 Device

“Backup”, what does this mean? Everyone talks about backing up your files, so that you can retrieve them in a situation like a data loss. Lets see what this really means, and how we can do this on a Nokia S60 Mobile.

What is “Backup”?

In techno geek world, The situation meant by “Backup” is Making alternate copies of your primarily used files or data, so that in a case of a data loss you can retrieve your files using the alternate backup you made earlier and resume your work without an impact.

Backups are useful in case you accidently delete the primary copy of your data, or you face some sort of a disaster which will end up destroying your storage mediums. In my case, if I lose all my data, id rather suicide than live the next part of my life. But if you backed up everything you need earlier, you can always restore your work using the backup and resume with your work.

Importance of Mobile Phone Backup ?

Like computers, Mobile phones nowadays hold bytes of valuable data.

To some people in the business world, the data inside the phone is far more valuable than the value of the device. Contacts/Phone Book, Calendar Entries, Notes, Pictures taken from the Phone Camera are some examples for Data types in Mobile devices. In case of a situation like a theft or an accident where you end up loosing your mobile phone or bricking it, you lose your Data along with the device as well.

This could be avoided if you have a backup of everything you need, so that you can restore the backup to your new device and resume with your work.

So how do we make a backup?

Making a Backup is sometimes simple as copy-paste.

All you gotta do is copy the data, and paste it in a safer storage medium. Making this a habit to do once a week or month depending on the data will save you in most of the situations.

Alternatively there are software’s that will do this for you and most of them can be programmed to carry out a backup process automatically in a timely manner. In earlier DOS days my geek cousin ELCP created a .bat file with a bunch of dos commands that carries out this task automatically.

Backup a Nokia Symbian 60 series Device

Since my primary objective is to discuss about Nokia Symbian Series 60 Devices, Lets see the many ways that can be done.

There are a few ways to do this, if you’re looking for a way to backup your phone, pick the more suitable solution for you.

Using the Backup Feature in Nokia PC Suite.

Nokia PC suite is the software that you use to manage your mobile phone using a computer.

You can find this software in the CD or DVD that you received when you bought your mobile, in case you didn’t receive a CD or a DVD, you can download it using the Nokia Website.

This method is the best way to backup a Nokia Mobile, since it allows you to backup Contacts, Calendar Entries, Notes, Files, Emails and Text Messages.

1. Connect your Mobile Phone in PC suite mode using the Data cable or Bluetooth.

2. Open PC suite in Computer and wait up a few moments till it identifies the connected phone.

3. Select Backup on the PC suite interface and follow the on screen instructions to create a Backup file of the contents of your phone.

4. Select the content you need to be included in the backup file.

5. The software will create a backup of your content in a file that ends with the extension .nbu which will open in any computer that has Nokia PC suite installed.

6. Store this backup file in an alternate storage medium, such as a compact disk or a External Hard Drive.

In case of a disaster, you can use the same application (Select Restore instead of Backup) to restore your data back to the mobile phone.

Manual Copy-Paste.

If you need to backup your user files such as pictures, songs, and videos this a quick way to do this.

This can be done without PC suite as well, But this method has a drawback since this cannot obtain contacts or Calendar Entries. So this is not the best option.

With PC suite

1. Same drill, Connect Mobile Phone in PC suite mode, wait til it identifies the Phone.

2. Open PC suite and Select File manager in the PC suite interface.

3. This will open up your Memory Card and Phone memory in your computer.

4. Go through the folders and copy anything you need to your computer. You move as well, in case you don’t want the data anymore on your Phone memory.

Without PC suite

Can be done in any computer. But this will only open up your Memory Card or Mass Memory of the Phone.

This won’t work if you don’t have an alternate storage memory on your Phone.

If you have a Mobile with a Mass Storage Memory (N95 8GB, N81 8GB), your mass memory is the alternate storage area.

If you need to get something in the phone memory, Move it to the Memory Card or Mass Memory before connecting the phone to the computer, since this method does not give you access to the Phone Memory.

1. Connect the Phone to the Computer using the Data Cable.

2. Select “Storage Mode” or “Mass Memory” from the Phone Interface.

3. Your Phone’s Storage Memory will now show up as a External Hard Drive or a USB thumb drive in My Computer.

4. Open it and copy or Move anything you want from the Mobile to the PC.

Synchronize with Outlook or Lotus Notes

Another neat feature that comes with Nokia PC suite is Synchronization.
This allows you to merge your contacts, Calendar Entries and Notes with your personal management application.

Nokia PC suite is compatible with Microsoft Outlook, IBM Lotus Notes and a few more popular programs. Keeping the phone synchronized weekly with your PC will save you the time to go through the whole backup process.

But keep in mind that this only allows you to backup Contacts, Calendar Entries, Emails and Notes.

1. Connect the Phone in PC suite mode, and Open up PC suite.

2. Select Synchronize.

3. A separate window will open up for Synchronize Tasks.

4. Select the Phone from “connect a Phone” Button.

5. Enter your Settings such as your application, files to be synchronized.

6. Hit the Synchronize button to start the process.

Online Solutions.

Nokia Provides two solutions to backup your mobile phone online.

Which are MyNokia and Ovi.

MyNokia and Ovi will do carry out the Backup process for you. The advantage in this is you can retrieve your data from anywhere with internet connectivity.

MyNokia

1. Sign up and Login at My Nokia.
2. Select My Nokia Backup service.

Ovi

1. Sign up and Login to Ovi Service.
2. Add your mobile Device to be Managed by Ovi, Enter all your details correctly.
3. You will receive a Text Message shortly with necessary information.

Advanced User Solutions

This method is for the advanced user’s who have tested the FCA0000 Hack on their Mobiles.

If you have no idea what this means, Do not attempt to try this.

For users who have gained access to system folders using the recent hacks that emerged in the symbian world, you can copy the database files from the directly from the phone to your memory card.

All you need is a File manager with all files capability.

Lyrics of "Cry"

I'll always remember
it was late afternoon
It lasted forever
And ended so soon
You were all by yourself
Staring up at a dark gray sky
I was changed

Chorus
In places no one will find
All your feelings so deep inside (deep inside)
It was then that I realized
That forever was in your eyes
The moment I saw you cry

It was late in September
And I'd seen you before
You were always the cold one
But I was never that sure
You were all by yourself
Staring up at a dark gray sky

I was changed

Chorus

I wanted to hold you
I wanted to make it go away
I wanted to know you
I wanted to make your everything, alright
I'll always remember...
It was late afternoon
in places no one will find

Chorus

The moment I saw you cry
I wanted to know you....

Machan - The Movie (2008)

Release Date - 12 September 2008
Genre - True Story, Comedy
Plot - The real story of the not-so real Sri Lanka National Handball Team
Awards - 3 wins & 1 nomination

Machan
is a Sinhalese Movie based on the true story of the Fake Sri Lankan Handball team which was invited to Germany for a Hand Ball tournament and disappeared into Europe without a trace. As My friend Thil stated in his blog , this is indeed a movie that a brought a smile to everyone who watched it.

Movie Plot Summary

A group of desperate slum dwellers, living on the margins of society under impossible pressures,
find an invitation to a handball tournament in Bavaria to be the answer to their prayers, a one way ticket to the West and the wealth that will solve all their problems.

Manoj and Stanley console themselves after their latest visa application is rejected. For barman Manoj, the recurrent denial of his ultimate dream to live and work in the beautiful West is taking a serious toll, whilst his lifelong friend Stanley, fruit seller in the streets of Colombo, is losing his fight against overwhelming debt, looking after crazy aunts and a young brother on the way to a criminal life.

With their spirits at an all time low the chance discovery of an invitation to a handball toul'nament in Bavaria appears to them like a present from the Gods. Even if nobody knows what handball is, a bogus application to the tournament is submitted and soon a mismatched collection of friends and colleagues, creditors and policemen, join together in the unlikely Sri Lanka National Handball
Team.

With little thought to the tournament that awaits them on the other side of the world, "training
sessions" are understandably minimalist and any excess energy ploughed into internal skirmishing. As the tournament invitation arrives, handball rules and regulations are side-lined; dreams of leaving poverty behind and a better life take centre stage as they march to the German Embassy for that magical visa...

Rejected again! Who the hell mentioned Ministry letters? Why should you need permission from
your own government if you've had an invitation from another? Does this mean the end of the
dream?

There's always master forger and all-round crook Ruan of course, but you'd have to seriously be
scraping the barrel to go to him for help.

A trade off sees the reluctant last minute inclusion of a bunch of stranded foreigners. The team,
now swollen to capacity, finally gets its much agonised visa and, after painful good byes to families and friends, is on the way to the West and a bright future.

But the planned quick getaway on arrival is crushed by the welcoming organisers and a change of schedule sees them confronted by an arena full of sport fans eager to applaud the prowess of the Sri Lanka National Handball Team.

70-0. And now? Do they run before the inevitable arrest and an inglorious return home? Or should they fight on to defend personal and national pride at the cost of risking the end of their dream?

The Real Story

BBC News Wednesday, 15 September, 2004, 14:00 GMT 15:00 UK

German authorities say they are puzzled by the disappearance of the entire national handball team from Sri Lanka.
German Sports Exchange Programme organiser, Dietmer Doering, said: "We initially thought the team had got lost in nearby woods while jogging."

But he said a note had been found saying the 23-strong team had gone to France. "We now know they crossed into Italy," Mr Doering said.

"They even left their dirty laundry," he added.

Unauthorised trip

Mr Doering told Priyath Liyanage of the BBC Sinhala service the organisers were feeling extremely let down by the incident.

"This will be the last time we will be doing this. I am not planning to invite any more teams from Sri Lanka," he said.

"The entire team of 23 men, including the coach and the manager, has taken off."

The handball team was taking part in a programme in which teams from both countries visited each other for friendly games.

The sports ministry in Sri Lanka said the trip was not authorised.

Handball is a sport very rarely played in Sri Lanka and the formation of a national team was a mystery, according to the ministry spokesman.

The performance of the team had been poor throughout the tournament.

Mr Doering said that until now the exchange programme had been successful.

"Different sports teams from Sri Lanka have been taking part in the project for nearly 15 years," he said.
